Project Description

Quickbox is a Chrome-extension app for retail cash registers that talks directly to Point of Sale (POS) devices.

Challenge

The main challenge was making QuickBox adaptable to different purposes and client brands while complying with the Ministry of Finance rules and support requirements for communicating with POS devices.

What I did

  • Analyzed competitors’ solutions
  • Understood the Ministry of Finance guidelines and provided relevant feedback
  • Conducted interviews with POS and device manufacturers
  • Defined project goals and objectives
  • Formulated use cases for different business workflows
  • Developed user journeys, stories and flows
  • Created wireframes
  • Designed modular, LEGO-style layout concepts for different needs
  • Created a template that different brands can use
  • Developed low-fidelity and high-fidelity prototypes
  • Built from scratch with HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript, jQuery and Bootstrap

What are the goals of the project?

Quickbox automates payment processes and connects to POS devices in retail sectors including supermarkets, restaurants, and small grocery stores.

Current Product

The QuickBox solution was used actively in the kiosks of the Divan brand in Beşiktaş Vodafone Arena. There are screenshots in the gallery below. Also this project use Kiosk management system at backend.
